Constellation Brands grew fiscal 2027 second-quarter net sales 6% to $2.63 billion, with its Beer Business up 5% to $2.47 billion on a 5.5% rise in shipment volumes and Wine and Spirits up 17% to $159.4 million. Beer operating margin slipped to 39% from 40.6% as higher marketing and SG&A spending outweighed lower tariff costs, while Pacifico depletions climbed roughly 19% and Victoria about 15% even as Modelo Especial fell around 2% and Corona Extra about 5%. Reported diluted EPS rose 25% to $3.32, and the company reaffirmed comparable EPS guidance of $11.20 to $11.90 while lifting reported EPS guidance to $11.85 to $12.55. After quarter's end Constellation bought spirit-based RTD brand SpikedAde for $75 million at closing, plus up to $278 million in contingent payments over five years, a deal that leaves its fiscal 2027 outlook unchanged.
Molson Coors CEO asks employees to fund relaunched corporate PAC
Molson Coors is relaunching its political action committee, and CEO Rahul Goyal pitched some employees on contributing in a memo sent Friday morning, which Fingers obtained from an anonymous current employee. Goyal wrote that "whatever you're able to give" helps shape policies that "protect jobs, foster innovation," and asked workers to contribute to Molson Coors Beverage Company USA LLC PAC through recurring payroll deductions or one-time gifts. Federal records show MCBC PAC has spent money in every Congressional cycle over the past decade and a half but its spending has fallen every year since the $284,000 it spent in 2009-2010, down to $71,510 in the current federal cycle. The PAC has been far more active at the state and local level, where a July 2026 investor-relations document put its contributions at $315,800, more than ten times its federal spending that year; it was not clear what the relaunch entails or who received the memo, and neither Molson Coors nor the PAC responded to a request for comment.

American Craft Spirits Association CEO Emily Pennington told Global Drinks Intel the group is pushing the FTC to study the three-tier system's distribution and market-access challenges for small producers, saying it wants a more level playing field rather than the system dismantled. Pennington said an ACSA survey found more than 50% of members are owed late payments by distributors, averaging $27,000, with at least one owed over $100,000; the group is also backing the Spirit Act, which would give a 90% tax break to craft distillers using 90% American-grown inputs, and the expansion of direct-to-consumer shipping, now allowed in around ten states. Stoli Group owner Yuri Shefler told The Telegraph that former Latvian Prime Minister Andris Šķēle, whom he links to Putin's "inner circle," demanded control of the business last month, a claim Šķēle denies, saying he approached Shefler on behalf of creditors trying to save Amber Latvijas Balzams from bankruptcy. The sister-company unit, placed in legal protection early this year, applied on 6 October to terminate that protection after failing to win creditor approval for a repayment plan, alleging an unnamed third party bought a majority of claims against it to gain control; separately, Amber's UK unit has been put up for sale. Grocery Outlet is selling wines that typically retail for $45 to $85 for $9.99 under its Second Cheapest Wine brand, Kroger added 20 wines scoring 90-plus for the first time in its history, and industry experts expect the discounts to last up to two years as vineyards reduce acreage.
