Weaver says no signed purchase agreement exists to justify the figure and that she has liquidated personal assets and lacks the funds to post it; the Tennessee whiskey maker has been in court-ordered receivership since August 2025 after defaulting on debt the lender now puts at more than $120m.

Drinks Intel manually analyzed every available menu from World's 50 Best's 2026 lists of the 50 Best Bars of Europe and Asia, finding savoury cocktails (miso, olive oil, beetroot, beef jerky) prominent, particularly in Asia. On tequila serves, it cites Wilde Toast research that the classic margarita's momentum is waning while the spicy margarita leads, and argues brands may find less-crowded, cheaper opportunity in third- and fourth-wave serves such as the toreador, el diablo and ranch water, noting Bacardí's St-Germain helped drive a 1,300% rise in searches for "hugo spritz" over five years.
